Flexible
hose is usually the first choice for bathroom fan venting for
these reasons:
1. Fan boxes are mounted between studs in an attic, resulting
in tight working spaces. Crushing is not usually an issue, but
a lightweight flexible product is easier on the installer.
2. ULŪ 181 duct is approved for the venting of bathroom fans
3. Unmarked vinyl, while suitable for bathroom fan venting in
the past, lacks the necessary flame protection required by ULŪ
and most Building codes. |
